Yes it is! WooHoo!
In March last year I morphed from being Lindyinpink, a pink haired, Lindy hopping, often standing on a soap box, opinionated woman into Mamainpink, a pink haired, Lindy hopping, often standing on a soap box, opinionated woman WITH A BABY! a son! ME, I have a son?! whhhhhaaaaattttttt???!!
I was not prepared for the changes, the challenges or the crazy amount of love that is now in my life and I want to share it with you all! I have learnt a lot, and discovered some amazing things about myself and the other people in this very cool parenting club. Unfortunately I have also discovered the other side of the parenting club coin. The not-so supportive and frankly scary, mommy wars. This is something I am going to discuss in later posts, as I am still working my way through understanding the whole thing. That is, if there is even anything to understand. For now I will say it is not something I subscribe to. I believe being a parent is hard enough without every decision and thought being judged both directly and indirectly. I believe that we are able to form supportive and respectful communities as parents even when we have different opinions and styles. In fact I am a member of a group of such parents. There are over 50 members in the online birth club I joined while pregnant and it is the proof that we can do it.
I also want to use this blog as a space to explore and discuss my own parenting principles, to be able to share my thoughts and opinions and to continue my parenting journey.
So I hope you will join me and we can learn together.
